See "Charlie Wilson's War" for previous donkey/mule weapon transport systems.

Maximum weight carried: one-third of the animal weight. If only Marines and Soldiers had so much care and concern lavished on them about overloading...

If the SpecOps troops leading the animals played the part, it would be difficult to tell from a distance that they were not merchants with supplies.

Cheers.

Cheers.

I have done some experimenting with horses in Dakota territory. They work alright and if you are traveling light you can ride .... travel heavy you either need 2 or you walk. Without a pack saddle and trying to improvise it takes a lot of experimenting to get a load to stay put... but it can be done. Don't forget your light ropes and bring plenty.

Three cheers for the Jackass Brigade, Ra,Ra,Ra.
But seriously if you have to head for the hills the rougher the terrain the better off you would be and the more supplies you can bring with you the longer you could stay hidden. Also if times REALY got bad you can eat your pack animals much like some tribes of the North American Indians. A good example of the kind of terrain to use pack animals is the Chiricahua Hills in Eastern Arizona and Western New Mexico.
