Lady Zane and I went to see this over the holiday weekend. There's some annoying parallels to Gladiator. But there's some great themes that run through this movie.

Paying taxes compared to patriotism-where have we heard that before? Joe Biden.

A meeting of armed men speaking from the back of a wagon. I leaned over to her and said, "Hey, it's Restore the Constitution on the back of my pickup truck!!"

A young leader who thinks he's nigh on to God himself and disdains any word of dissent or disagreement. Sounds familiar.

And is it just me, or does Godfrey look like Rahm Emmanuel?

And of course, Russell Crowe kicking everybody's ass. Hardly seems like acting for him.

A good flick.

I saw this movie the other day because I'd heard from many people and sites that it was a pro-libertarian kind of movie. It was, but I still didn't like it (on the basis that it was more of a prequel to Robin Hood than the actual story of Robin Hood).

I am almost 100% sure that there will be a sequel, and I'm almost 100% sure I will like it better.

Timing for the story is perfect.

Ol' Jones recommends this movie. . .

if only to watch the mysterious, angular and full-lipped beauty of Cate Blanchett. I could watch her forever.

Spoiler alert:

Oh, and you ladies will like Russell Crowe too. Especially when Mrs. Loxley assists him in removing his chain mail.
